Stunning house, stunning location. After living in Scotland for 40+ years we thought we had seen and experienced its best, but I was re-educated! Many thanks for a truly wonderful holiday at Glasnock.
We really enjoy our stay in your gorgeous house – you have done a fantastic job! Everything is so tastefully decorated – we love everything from the absolutely well equipped kitchen to the cosy living room and the fabulous bathrooms and the sliding doors and the “Mouseman”- accessories (some years ago we have been to the showroom in Yorkshire) 😉 And the gym is the icing on the cake – normally Gunter prefers to run outdoors, but with this view he has changed his mind – and he is doing his daily 10 km run on your treadmill while I’m answering your mail! And thank you very much for the welcome-goodies – the sticky toffee cake is delicious! We have stayed over the last 15 years in about 50 or more self catering accommodations all around Britain – and your house is definitively in our “Top 3”!
We had a wonderful stay at Glasnock, thank you. The deer were rutting all round the place, the autumn colours were amazing and the house itself is so luxurious. We loved the balance in the house between being a home, and a hotel. There were so many luxuries throughout the place like the coffee machine and the loaded iPod and the gorgeous bed linen and the bath products, it is so generously stocked for a rental home.
We had the most perfect stay at Glasnock. The house really is a masterpiece even down to the music on the iPod. I have not listened to Barclays James Harvest since I was a kid. And then I found Dave Gilmour….heaven. I have no suggestions, recommendations or constructive criticism to offer as everything was perfect.
Glasnock is a wonderful and special place; one that we’d hope to return to one day. It is definitely a place to go to get away from a busy life. In my opinion, ideal for a family. My wife and I stayed upstairs and our 3 kids stayed on the ground floor. The 2 girls in the room with the double bed, our son in the room with the double bed. The house is clearly new, which is nice, and the owner clearly wants to ensure that her guests are comfortable — which we were. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked. It has pretty much everything anyone could want/need for cooking (we had all dinners at home and used quite a few utensils/appliances).
We are in love!! It’s simply wonderful up here. We couldn’t have asked for more when we got here. It’s a home from home, you’ve thought of everything! We’re having breakfast now then going exploring.
Glasnock is a truly lovely house, in such a stunning location. You’ve certainly thought of everything – in fact you’ve laid on far more here at Glasnock than I would ever have expected to find, it is probably the most well appointed holiday home I’ve ever stayed at. If anything you are almost too generous with some of the things in the house…it is such a home from home.
Dear Rebecca, We are simply loving Glasnock in so many ways. Not only its beautiful surroundings (I think my photos have now reached 200!) but also the house itself. The design is brilliant! I love the two wings, the fact that guests stay downstairs, the big entrance hall, and utility room etc. You have put so much thought into the design and it really shines through. Have eaten really well on lobsters, langoustines, squat lobster tails – fab – but the effect has registered on the bathroom scales !! Anyway, already one week in, and I’m already anticipating the down feeling as “going home” time looms up !! However, if Glasnock is going to be available next year, we will definitely be coming back – perhaps both in the Spring and the Autumn. Glasnock has restorative powers !! BLISS! Date of stay: 03 January 2015 We spent a week at Glasnock in January and it was heaven. The location on the Lochcarron estate was quintessential highlands with snow, wild deer & unbeatable scenery. The house is equivalent to staying in a 5 star hotel, with every possible appliance, a new immaculate kitchen and real attention to detail. We will certainly be going back and would recommend visiting to anyone with a family. The help & effort put in by the owner & staff were also as you would expect from such a beautiful house & location.
I wanted to thank you for sharing your house with us; it is a very precious place. I usually hate going on vacations….but this is the first time that I don’t want to go back home! I am in wonderland. THANK you
A good measure of how a holiday house stacks up is the “chill out” factor and Glasnock has it in spades. Such a warm and beautifully furnished house with a kitchen that was a pleasure to cook in – we felt right at home. A tranquil place from which to explore the highland surrounds. We would love to come back one day. September 2015
We wanted to let you know that we made it to Glasnock and are delighted with its charms – both in terms of the setting and with the house itself. It’s nearly 12 months since we came across the website for Glasnock on our internet trawling for holiday destinations. There is always some trepidation when you look forward so much to staying in a particular place in case it leads to disappointment, but that has certainly not been the case with Glasnock. So thanks for the all the passion and eye for detail that has gone into creating Glasnock and making it available to visitors from afar such as ourselves.
BREATHTAKING… We really don’t want to give it a good review because then you’ll all want to go too…..! But, Glasnock really is one of the best places we have ever stayed, stunning, well equipped, beautiful decor, amazing location, perfect for walking, that’s if you can tear yourself away from the house, the views and the neighboring stags!
